Professor Jason Chin-Leung
Jason Chin-Leung is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) under, World No-Gi and Pan champion, Professor Omar Salvosa, and is of the Carlson Gracie lineage (Carlos Gracie Sr. - Carlson Gracie Sr. - Marcus Soares - Omar Salvosa - Jason Chin-Leung).

He is a certified Black Belt by the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) and has many years of experience as a referee official for both the IBJJF and Ontario Jiu Jitsu Association (OJA). Jason is also a licensed professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Second/Corner-man.

Jason has been a life-long martial artist, but specifically began his training in BJJ and MMA in 2003. He began teaching as a BJJ Blue Belt in Trenton in 2004, being the very first to offer this type of training in the Bay of Quinte Region. In 2006, the Trenton club switched its focus from MMA to more BJJ specific.
Beginning in 2008, at the rank of Purple Belt, Jason also began to travel annually to Brazil in order to train at some of the most elite BJJ academies, training with and learning from many multiple-time world champions like: Fabio Gurgel, Demian Maia, Ricardo Vieira, Andre Galvao, and Rafael and Guilherme Mendes.

Jason was awarded his Black Belt by Professor Omar Salvosa, in a ceremony led by Mestre Marcus Soares (currently a 9th degree, red belt Grandmaster) on September 25th, 2013.

In 2020, Jason moved from teaching BJJ in Trenton to Belleville.

In competition, Jason has won 13 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze medals at various BJJ tournaments, which includes achievements such as: Absolute Champion (Open Weight class) at the Ontario Open International Jiu Jitsu Championship (Canada's largest BJJ event), gold in the Black Belt Heavyweight Division at the Ontario Provincial Championships, and silver in the Black Belt Absolute Division at the Ontario Provincial Championships.

Jason served in the Canadian Army for 21 years as an elite army paratrooper and is currently a serving police officer in the local area. He also has years of experience in other martial arts and combat sports which included Boxing, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and Shotokan Karate.
